Hyperion

Hyperion (Hyperion, #1)Hyperion by Dan Simmons

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This first book of the Hyperion Cantos, caught me by surprise. Luckily, it was a good kind of surprise. A friend suggested Hyperion and I added it to my list of things to read.

The story was arranged in an interesting structure, it had around six or seven chapters which spanned near 400 pages. Each chapter told the tale of each of the final pilgrims as they travel to the Time Tombs in Hyperion. The chapters were long, but didn't seem to notice as the pages flew by.

The book ended half way through the first half of the total Cantos, I look forward to reading the rest. I hope the rest of the series is as good as this book.
