Yesterday Snow arrived in early afternoon and we decided to grab a bite to eat at White Castle as some of the crew hadn’t been there before.  It was good, but good gravy it really can mess with your stomach.

After we took a stroll around downtown Carmel, IN we headed to Best Buy so I could pick up some new music.  We then came back to the house and played Beautiful Katamari for many hours until the ladies broke and made meatballs and spaghetti, it was fab!  We then headed out to the Brockway Public House and enjoy some night air, beverages, and conversation.

We’re on vacation, folks will be here tomorrow, the house is clean, we’re ready to have fun!  The geek out that is Bloc Party starts tomorrow!  I’ll be updating through out, hoping to get a lot of pictures of all the shenanigans.

I’ve spent the afternoon prepping the house for Bloc Party, I love owning a house, but some of the things you have to do to keep it up are just tiring.  Liz and I bought this house in April of 07, a month before we got married.  We’re to the point now where it actually feels like we’re past the stage of remedial maintenance.  Meaning things like replacing oh let’s say the water softener, water purifier and water heater because they were shot.  We had to replace all the wood and screen on our back porch because we found out it was rotten when we were trying to just simply replace some torn screen.

Today I finished up the wall in our living room  I removed non-functional speakers that we couldn’t get to work, it was a dry wall patch and paint job.  I also rented a carpet cleaner and cleaned all the carpets on the main and second floors.  The basement carpet is in good shape.  In the next couple of weeks we’ll be having the exterior painted and rotten boards replaced.  Once we get that done we’ll start looking at spaces / rooms to remodel.  We’ll probably start in our laundry room.

One thing I’ve learned is I’ll always have something to work on now that I own a house!  I still have a list of things I want to get down before July 28^th, wish me luck!
